Definitions
Retail (chain or independent grocer)
A dealer who takes possession of a fresh fruit or vegetable with the intention of reselling it to someone other that the end consumer.
Foodservice & (Certain) Restaurants
Includes a foodservice operator (such as a chef, food service director, independent food preparation business) or foodservice distributor (an intermediary between food service operators and food manufacturers who purchases, stores, sells and/or delivers fresh fruits and vegetables to foodservice operators). Some restaurants with central buying fall in this category.
Persons
A person can be an individual or an organization, including an association, company and corporation; includes other recognized legal entities such as LLC, partnerships, etc.
Produce
Fresh fruits and vegetables.
Single day
Within a single day.
Previous 12 months
The previous 12 months from the day an activity is conducted that is otherwise prohibited in section 122(2)(b). (i.e.: the date of last transaction)

We are a national retail chain that purchases all fruits and vegetables through regional purchasing centres (i.e.: in more than one province).
A membership IS REQUIRED for each purchasing entity.
We are an independent retailer with stores located in a single province; all fruit and vegetable purchases are made within the province.
We are an independent retailer with stores located in a single province; all fruit and vegetable purchases are made within the province, other provinces and/or countries.
We are an independent retailer with stores located in more than one province; all fruits and vegetable purchases are made within the province, other provinces and/or countries.

Foodservice
We are a foodservice provider with central buying offices selling to franchise operations; purchases and/or sales of fruits and vegetables are made outside of the province.
We are a foodservice provider that services hospitals, schools and other institutions as well as independent restaurants with fruit and vegetable purchases and/or sales made outside of the province.
Restaurant
I paid less than $100,000 for fruits and vegetables purchased in the past 12 months.
I paid more than $100,000 for fruits and vegetables purchased from outside of the province in the past 12 months.
I purchase less than 2 205 lb of fruits and vegetables in a single day.
I purchase more than 2 205 lb of fruits and vegetables in any single day from outside province.
I purchase all fruits and vegetables from within the province.
